In diesem Blog geht es um Technologie, (primär deutsches) Recht, und etwas Geplauder aus dem Nähkästchen. Ich schreibe über technologische Entwicklungen, ihre rechtlichen Implikationen und deren praktische Anwendung. Ich werde auch das ein oder andere Wort über die Eigenarten/Eigenheiten der rechtlichen Profession und dem Umgang mit den rechtlich Gesinnten verlieren.
Dieser Blog richtet sich an diejenigen, die sich im Prozess der Translation ihrer Ideen, Erfindungen oder Entwicklungen in praxis-orientierte Anwendungen befinden. Er richtet sich auch an Berater aus anderen Jurisdiktionen, die an etwas „look and feel“ der Anwendung deutschen Rechts im Technologie-Sektor interessiert sind.

Für die Anglizisten unter den Lesern: Artikel werden sowohl in der deutschen als auch in der englischen Sprache veröffentlicht. Allerdings sind beide Fassungen keine Übersetzungen der jeweils anderen, um ein „lost in translation“ zu vermeiden.

Ich bin in Deutschland und im Bundesstaat New York zugelassener Rechtsanwalt. This blog is about technology, (primarily German) law, and a little inside talk. I’ll be writing about technological developments, their legal implications, and on their practical approach cross-roads. I will also throw in a word or two on particularities of the legal profession and dealings with the legally minded.
This blog is directed towards those that are in the process of translating their ideas, inventions, or developments in real-world applications. In this regard, I will have a look at the life sciences and biotechnology sectors since these sectors are facing extraordinary regulatory hurdles. However, this blog is also directed towards professionals outside of Germany interested in the look and feel of the application of Germany law in the technology industries.

About Myself
I am a lawyer admitted in Germany and in New York. I worked for 10 years in the Frankfurt, Chicago, and Munich offices of one of the largest international law firms and have been a partner since a further 10 years in a German law firm. Ever since, my practice has been emphasizing on technology transactions in various flavors. Finally, my lecture activity for the TRAIN Academy was a source of inspiration for this blog.
